in the Mass and our other opportunities for service
Are you interested in offering your time and gifts? see Fr Tony after Mass.
Participation means the world to us,
We come together as a faith community and share moments of joy and energy and equally moments of silence and prayerfulness as we take part in the celebration of the mystery of the Mass.
Our celebrations are aided by our fellow parishioners who quietly give their time, care and love in service to our parish. From those working behind the scenes ….
| sacristans | church cleaners |
| flower arrangers | running the piety stall |
….. to those offering a warm welcome and a friendly smile as we all arrive and the people who operate the powerpoint for the church screens to make it easier for everyone to take part in the responses. Not forgetting altar servers, the collectors and parishioners who volunteer to take up the offertory gifts of bread and wine during the Mass.
The celebration of Mass is enriched through the generous service of many parishioners who offer their gifts in a variety of ministries. Music that lifts our prayer, readers who proclaim God’s word, the communion ministers who help the priest / deacon to distribute the Body and Blood of Christ.
Our housebound parishioners are joined with our community celebration when the communion minister brings them Holy Communion.
Music Ministry
Music groups accompany the 10am and 6pm Masses on a Sunday

The Sunday morning music group, pictured, meet to practice on a Monday evening in the house – new members welcome.
Reader

The readers take time to prepare the readings before the service.
Their role is to proclaim the sacred scripture clearly and prayerfully.
They also lead the prayer of the faithful.
COMMUNION (Eucharistic) Ministers
Communion ministers are commissioned for the parish.

Funeral Ministry
The Lay Funeral Minister is a trained lay person who supports bereaved families and leads funeral rites (service) on behalf of the parish, when a Requiem Mass is not being celebrated.
Catechetical Ministry
Parishioners support others on their journey of faith through the various preparation programmes for first communion, marriage and RCIA.
