St Teresa of Lisieux – St Teresa of Lisieux Catholic Primary School
In 2024 our primary school became part of the All Saints Multi Academy Trust (AMAT) which is a partnership of Christian schools jointly sponsored by the Catholic Archdiocese of Liverpool and the Church of England Diocese of Liverpool. It is inspired by an ecumenical vision based on the 1980s ecumenical work of Archbishop Derek Worlock and Bishop David Sheppard, emphasizing that schools are “better together”. Our Catholic schools continue to evolve to meet the needs of our children and enable them to be educated in a faith school.
An extract from the archives reminds us of the financial hardship borne by previous Catholics to enable the rich tradition of our local Catholic schools now represented by St Teresa of Lisieux Catholic Primary Academy
“February 3 1929: Archbishop Downey through his Clergy … urgently appeals to every Catholic, irrespective of whatever political party they support, to make as public as possible the injustice we Catholics suffer in having to bear the financial burden of the building of our Catholic schools. It is his wish that his Clergy will see that the name of every catholic in the parish who has a right to vote, appears on the voting register. A special committee will undertake this work regarding the Catholics in THIS Parish“
The Joint working between parish and school continues … Fr Tony regularly visits the school on a Thursday, as part of and supporting the pastoral team.

The children joined in the summer 2025 celebrations for Fr Tony’s 40th Anniversary of Ordination by making a celebratory paper chain with 40 links.
As the Year 6 children explained “each of the 40 links shows one memory, one prayer or one kind thing you’ve done. Just like the chain is all joined up, we wanted to show how your work has joined us all together in faith and friendship“
The October 2025 edition of the Catholic Pictorial highlights the double success for St Teresa of Lisieux Catholic Primary Academy in celebrating significant improvements in academic outcomes and receiving high praise in it’s latest Catholic Schools Inspectorate Report
At Christmas, the school shared the christmas trees, which had been decorated by each year group in school for their Christmas Assemblies, to help decorate the church. A first for St Teresas this year was a Christingle and carol service held in the church. Some parishoners had helped the children make the Christingles in school.
